Brindle Girl is a 12 year old Dutch Shepherd, a lovely senior gal who has recently been given a concerning medical diagnosis which is worrying in its eventuality. Thankfully she is currently doing well and continues to enjoy her family, her neighbourhood and her favourite toys.
The location for this photo session was the small but very quaint Coronation Park, smack dab in the heart of old St. Boniface. With the craziness that has been our spring, we were fortunate to enjoy one of the brighter, dryer days. It was perfect for a walk and a talk, interjected with the anticipated pauses to capture the moments.
In the photo below, Brindle Girl is sitting in front of the stage box mural painted by local artist, Sarah Collard
Brindle Girl’s favourite toy is a small tire, which she carries everywhere.
She loves that tire almost as much as she loves her wood sticks.
Brindle Girl shares her life with her mom, Nissetje, her canine sibling (a handsome shepherd mix) and two fluffy felines.

All in all a most enjoyable morning… thank you Nissetje. I wish you and your beautiful Brindle Girl many more sunny fun-filled days.
“I talk to her when I’m lonesome like; and I’m sure she understands. When she looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; then she rubs her nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat. For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes, but never a friend like that.” ~ W. Dayton Wedgefarth

Hi Col,
Just came by to admire the pictures of my girl again, and to give you an update. She’s declining very slowly, but is still happy for the most part. When I walk her (more slowly, now) through Coronation Park, I often think of you and the lovely time my old dog and I had at the photo session with you. The pictures capture her personality so well, and I know they will bring me tears, good memories, and comfort once she is gone.
Take care,
Nissetje

Oh nissetje, Thank you so very much for this update. I am saddened by the news of her slow decline but glad that she is still enjoying her time. I am honoured that I had the opportunity to meet both you and this lovely girl. Please keep the updates coming. You are often in my thoughts.
