“It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.” ~ John Grogan
That is, unless you have a dog…
Lacie doesn’t seem to mind the cold and snow. As long as we are outside, preferably with a ball, she is a happy girl.
If not for her, I’m not so sure I would have left the warmth of the house… but how can I resist those sad eyes starring up at me while she rests her soft head on my lap. I know all to well what she is trying to say.
Once outside it’s all about the ball, the chase and then another throw. Over and over til her lifted front feet signal the end of the game. We trudge back indoors, leaving wet footprints along the entrance floor, shedding leashes, scarfs, coats and mitts as we go.
Warm again… until the next go.
Life with dogs… it gets us going, even when we would rather not.
“Snow flakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes…”
Here are the hopeful faces from today…
“Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail.” ~ Kinky Friedman
I never tire of visiting and walking about at The Forks. Doing it with a good friend only adds to the pleasure.
“Sometimes, walking with a friend, I forget the world.” ~ Grace Paley
My sister is visiting from Victoria. Being able to stroll with her along the river walk at The Forks is the best! We stopped mid way to check out our beautiful parliament building. The Inuksuk is located on the legislature grounds behind the building. The sun was warm, the scenery lovely and the the companionship heart warming.
“When you look at an old Inuksuk, you are seeing more than just a stack of stones. You are seeing the thoughts of another person left upon the land.” ~ Norman Hallendy
